Packing Peanut Snakes

Posted on September 03, 2013 by Darcy Le Fleming | 0 comments

Every Tuesday throughout the summer My Brooklyn Baby hosts a free playdate with Habana Outpost. We have lots of toys for kids to play with and free arts and crafts projects designed for kids 1.5 - 4 years.  I came up with this week's project when I was throwing out some packing peanuts the other day, it is really simple and and great for working on those fine motor skills.

You will need the following:

  • pipe cleaner
  • google eyes (or you could cut eyes out of a magazine)
  • a pink or red scrap of paper to make a tongue
  • markers
  • white glue

First, thread the packing peanuts onto the pipe cleaner. Next, decorate your snake with markers and then glue on the eyes and the tongue. That's it!  For older kids, you could look at photos of real snakes and recreate their patterns.

Happy crafting!  Stop by our Baby Breakfast Playdate if you are in Brooklyn. We will continue to meet every Tuesday at 10am until October 8th.
