Nature Collage Sun Catcher

Posted on April 11, 2013 by Darcy Le Fleming | 0 comments

For our table at the Earth Day Expo at Habana Outpost we wanted to come up with a craft that is easy to do with kids four and under while also getting them outside, discovering nature. The result is this nature collage suncatcher. Stop by the Earth Day Expo to pick up your free craft kit with all of the materials to make your own and find out how you can win free art supplies from My Brooklyn Baby!

Step #1 - Go on a Nature Walk!

You’re going to need natural collage materials. These can be sticks, flowers, leaves, seeds, dirt, grass, tiny pebbles. Make an adventure out of it, tell your little one you’re going on a nature hunt and give them an empty container to collect their materials in.

Step #2 - Craft Time!

After you’ve collected your materials, lay them out within easy reach for your child. Next, take the back off of one sheet of contact paper and carefully place your cardstock frame on top of the sticky side. Now, hand the sheet to your child sticky side up and let them decorate with the natural materials.

When they are finished. Take the back off of the second sheet of contact paper and place on top. Smooth down carefully from one side to the other. Tape a piece of string to the back and you are done. Hang it in your window or surprise someone by mailing it to them!

Step #3 - Show us your finished collage for a chance to win $200 of free art supplies from My Brooklyn Baby!

Just post a photo of your finished project on our facebook page or tag us in your instagram photoThe winner will be chosen randomly and announced on May 20th
