Rain Boot Garden
Several weeks ago I offered store credit in exchange for used rain boots to make planters inspired by a post I had seen on the blog Rosy Posy. The families of Brooklyn came through for me and the result is a very delightful mini-garden which complements my phone booth garden nicely.

I chose to mount the boots to a separate piece of wood which can be removed in the Winter (it also made mounting the boots much easier) and drilled holes in the bottom of the boots for drainage. So far portulaca, mint and thyme seem to be thriving in their new boot homes. Check out some more photos of the process below.
