Splatter Paint Thank You Cards

Posted on January 17, 2014 by Darcy Le Fleming | 0 comments

I like to have my daughter make personal cards for people but with Christmas and a January 3rd birthday, our list of people to send thank you cards to was too long to force her to make them all one by one. The solution: splatter paint cards!

Supplies:

  • White drawing paper
  • Paint (or water and food coloring)
  • Paint brush, tooth brush, chopsticks (anything to splash with)
  • Glue
  • Accent paper (to mount splatter painting to)

I set her up on a chair so she could do the "splattering" in the sink and gave her glasses of water colored with food coloring. She also had a paint brush, a tooth brush and chopsticks. Her favorite technique was using a chopstick to flick the paint off of the toothbrush. After the pages dried I cut them into smaller rectangles and then left them under a pile of books overnight to flatten out. The next day, I glued them to colored construction paper and we were all done...except for writing out and addressing 20 thank you cards. I can't wait until this kid learns how to write!
